Betty's Angels

On the night of December 10, 2001, I was preparing to cover up in bed like any other night. The next thing I knew, I found myself waking up on the floor-and I had hit my forehead. I then started getting sick.

I called my daughter to take me to the hospital as I thought I had a concussion. Upon arrival they did a cat scan and told me I would have to be flown to a larger hospital as I had a ruptured aneurysm behind my right eye( terrified-never flew-never wanted to.) At the larger hospital I was seen by a neurosurgeon who thought it was too dangerous to try and remove it and I should have the fairly new procedure done - wrapping it with platinum coils.

No one in my area does this sooo-3 days later I was flown to another hospital- I was kept knocked out and immobile or 3 days and the coils were put in-80 to 85% successful. My family was told I may repeat myself (I do sometimes,) be more sensitive to light (yes) have trouble with memory (yes) and a few minor things.

Now they think in 2or 3 months they need to add more coils possibly- they say it's a risk-- but it's a greater risk now since the neck of the aneurysm is not protected at all. Need I say I am frightened  EITHER WAY? They say the aneurysm is the size of a plum.

I had no warning- no head-aches-nothing.

I am 57- live alone and will answer anyone who might like to e-mail me at Betty's email.  I know that angels were with me when this thing ruptured, and I believe they still are. -Betty-A survivor!
