My journey started back in Sept 97, As it's now Feb 8, 2003. 5yrs since and doing better than the Docs ever thought I would. From being in a coma for 4 months, losing everything from speech, memory, knowing who I was, I mean everything!! I was just like a baby learning it all again!! Some came back w / help, others just came back Though speech and balance has it's days. I had plenty of therapists thou didn't care for the negative ones But Really Loved The Positive One that worked hard to get me walking again.
YES, took alot of steps though still in a wheelchair that gets me from point A to B. Not ashamed but know one day I'll be up using a walker or cane.. Oh, was in a MVA with my son (Jesse) who was 9 at the time, where today he's 15. As nothing happened to him, Thank God!! Only bad memories of that awful time in our lives. Was away from both my boys (Chris, my oldest 11 But today 17) . Had loving parents ( and still do) that took in their home and that's where I came to Their Home So we were all together since Jan 99.
If it wasn't for my family, I don't know where I'd be or what life state I'd be in. As it helping beginning Positive & Believing in God / Jesus Christ!! Thankful to both of them & my mom for not giving in to what the Docs were saying as they have just book knowledge, not hands on!! Please don't take everything they say, cause if my parents did, I would be a vegetable and never be able to type this letter and tell my story. As I'm better than I was and still getting better but let me tell you, it does take a long time (as it seems like a life time) thou I don't believe any time will make me 100% like before all this happened. Maybe 90%, as I'm shooting for that. Shoot for whatever you _yourself want to get to. I know others ideas are way to high. Just believe in yourself!!!!!!!!!
