REAL ACCESSIBILITY

What is accessibility?

Access= capacity to enter or approach, a way of approach. To get at, gain access to. Easily approached or entered.

This dictionary definition can be useful when addressing physical accommodations, however, it is not descriptive of cognitive accessibility.

  • Why does it matter?

  • Who is affected by accessibility issues?

  • Where can we find more information and resources?

Making Accessibility Real.  A Guide for Planning Meetings, Conferences and Gatherings is available at the following link,  Accessibility Brochure.  This Guide is a publication of The Home and Community-Based Services Resource Network. You can also access it by going to http://www.hcbs.org/ and putting 'accessibility' in the search box.
